If the McCreary Central Raiders were riding high off their 72-48 takedown of the Somerset Christian Cougars on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. McCreary Central was the victim of a tough 85-62 loss at the hands of Adair County on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, McCreary Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Adair County is ranked 24th).
Isaiah Cochran was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds for Adair County. The matchup was Cochran's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Connor Loy, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 assists.
McCreary Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Adair County, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCreary Central will take on Wayne County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wayne County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Adair County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bullitt Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
