Broq Powlus posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

Powlus' strong effort led Decatur over Beamer and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
