The Center Cougars lost against the Bear River Bruins on January 3rd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Center took a 60-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bear River. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Center in their matchups with Bear River: they've now lost four in a row.
Center's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Terrill Reid, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Dominic Johnson who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Reid continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Chris Nisi was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Center's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Bear River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center will take on Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Dennis Syders and Reid. As for Bear River, they will head out on the road to take on Twelve Bridges at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Twelve Bridges will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
