Burns put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Cherryville Ironmen as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Ironmen on their court since September 22, 2022.
Burns never let Cherryville on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-22.
Burns can attribute much of their success to Bailey Grayson, who had 13 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Grayson a new career-high in assists (seven).
They weren't the only good server: Burns was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cherryville only served one ace.
Despite the loss, Cherryville still got an impressive performance from Camryn Shirley, who had 16 digs and one assist. Shirley has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Burns' win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Cherryville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
