Baseball Recap: Lincoln Has No Trouble Against Jefferson

Lincoln lost to Jefferson back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Saints. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won 12 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Oliver Flores was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Josue Pena, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only posted an OBP of .417.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will take on Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluedevils have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Jefferson, they will host DSST: Montview at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
