The Humphreys County Cowboys won the last time they faced the Leland Cubs, and things went their way on Friday too. Humphreys County walked away with a 58-46 victory over Leland. That looming 58-46 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Humphreys County yet this season.
Humphreys County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamurion Swan led the charge by scoring 15 points. Swan also scored 15 points for the first time this season. Dexter Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Humphreys County and bumps their season record up to 4-5. As for Leland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humphreys County will challenge Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Greenville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. Leland will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Leflore County at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Leflore County is on a four-game streak of home losses, Leland an 11-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
