Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peddie). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 53-21 victory over the St. Luke's Storm. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-7.
Jeremiah Davis produced another solid performance rushing for 116 yards and one score on only 13 carries, while also picking up 44 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Peddie's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Kadin Huling was another key rusher, rushing for 67 yards and two TDs on only five carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Peddie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Davis, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Peddie's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for St. Luke's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
