The Tamaqua Blue Raiders will head out on the road to  face off against  the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Tamaqua has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Having struggled with five  losses in a row, Tamaqua  turned things around against Pine Grove  on Friday. They walked away with  a   69-56  win over the Cardinals.

 Tamaqua's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Noah Mateyak led the charge by  putting up 19  points. Mateyak's evening made it four games in a row in which  he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Luke Kane, who  posted 16 points.
 Meanwhile, Mahanoy Area didn't have too much trouble with Pen Argyl  on Saturday as they won  55-38. Given the Golden Bears' advantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings  (they are ranked 49th, while the Green Knights are ranked 694th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Tamaqua's record is now 6-13. As for Mahanoy Area, their record is now 18-1.
 Tamaqua lost to Mahanoy Area on the road  by a decisive  66-52 margin  in their previous meeting  back in December of 2024. Can Tamaqua avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
