The Garrison Bulldogs were the 56-47 winner over Tyler HEAT when they last played one another back in February of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Garrison suffered a tough 59-35 loss at the hands of Tyler HEAT on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Garrison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 894th, while Tyler HEAT is ranked 234th).
Tyler HEAT's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Grimes, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Tomlin, who scored ten points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Garrison's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Tyler HEAT, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 31-6.
Garrison will head out on the road to square off against Timpson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Garrison and Timpson are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Tyler HEAT, they will be playing at home against North Hopkins at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
