The Griffith Panthers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 64-54 win over Hobart on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Griffith, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Griffith's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Savon Miles, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianni Feaster, who scored 12 points.
Hobart's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Hnilo, who scored 27 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals, and Aidan Leonard who scored 15 points. Leonard scored a full 27.8% of Hobart's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Griffith's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hobart, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Griffith will head out on the road to face off against Lake Station Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hobart, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against South Central at 7:00 p.m.
