It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Garland Owls ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Garland and snuck past 53-51. The victory was just what Garland needed coming off of a 71-50 defeat in their prior matchup.
Garland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayson Ward, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaierick Moore jr, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
The victory got Garland back to even at 5-5. As for North Garland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Garland will head out on the road to face off against Lakeview Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview Centennial is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. North Garland will take on South Garland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Garland comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
