There's no place like home for the Bristol Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They managed a 49-44 win over Heartland Christian on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Bristol, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Bristol to victory were Sammy Mansfield and Briauna Klingensmith. Mansfield scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Klingensmith scored 14 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Klingensmith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Destiny Ernst, who scored eight points along with two steals.
The win got Bristol back to even at 9-9. As for Heartland Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bristol will take on John F. Kennedy Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. John F. Kennedy Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bristol in Ohio (John F. Kennedy Catholic is ranked 195th, while Bristol is ranked 655th). As for Heartland Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
