Bamberg-Ehrhardt has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Cross Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Bamberg-Ehrhardt rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past East Clarendon 41-13 at home. Bamberg-Ehrhardt might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matches by 28 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Cross had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. They came out on top against Allendale-Fairfax by a score of 28-18.
Tyler Mungin was a one-man wrecking crew for Cross as he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 102 yards and a touchdown. Mungin was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Bethune-Bowman and 3-8 Hannah-Pamplico (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.7% over those games). As for Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
