Softball Recap: Edcouch-Elsa Has No Trouble Against Donna North

Edcouch-Elsa never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Donna North Chiefs as Edcouch-Elsa made off with a 14-0 win. Considering the Yellowjackets have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mila Pedraza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Edcouch-Elsa got a massive performance out of Christa Lopez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. What's more, Lopez posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Taylor Herrera, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Edcouch-Elsa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Donna North only posted an OBP of .100.

Edcouch-Elsa's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Donna North, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Edcouch-Elsa has already played their next contest, an 8-7 win against Rivera on the 25th. As for Donna North, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 loss against Lopez on the 25th.
