The Memorial Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a rough 56-30 loss at the hands of Sapulpa. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Memorial has scored all season.
Leading Sapulpa to victory were Riki Mcquarters and Tyla Heard. Mcquarters almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals, while Heard dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Heard hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailynne Disaya Parker, who scored five points along with two steals.
Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Sapulpa, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial will square off against Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial is coming into the match with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Edison will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Sapulpa will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Holland Hall at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Sapulpa's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
