Dixon is 1-8 against Croatan since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dixon Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Croatan Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Dixon is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Dixon was beaten by White Oak 50-14. While losing is never fun, Dixon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 278th, while White Oak is ranked 96th).
The losing side was boosted by Jziah Hinton, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Croatan can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Swansboro and snuck past 10-7.
Josh Steffy and Coleman Davis were among the main playmakers for Croatan as the former rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 110 yards on only 11 carries.
With Dixon's loss and Croatan's win, both teams now sport identical 4-4 records.
Dixon might still be hurting after the 45-20 defeat they got from Croatan in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Dixon, Brayden Stephens (who rushed for 236 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
