Perry Meridian extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-13 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whiteland Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Wednesday.
Aiden Kerr put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Jackson McDaniel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Ethan Neffle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Drew Justice also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for Whiteland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games.
Like Perry Meridian, Whiteland also got a great game from a two-way player: Kayden Wilson. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Wilson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Blake Riddle was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Whiteland's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Maalik Perkins, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry Meridian will square off against Martinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whiteland, they will challenge Covenant Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
