The Pleasanton Eagles lost against the Floresville Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pleasanton fell 54-45 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Pleasanton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1040th, while the Tigers are ranked 487th).
Floresville found their leader in underclassman Samuel Rodriguez, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and five steals. It was the first time this season that Rodriguez posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Parkinson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Pleasanton's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Floresville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.
Pleasanton will head out on the road to challenge the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Uvalde is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Floresville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Warhorses at 6:30 p.m.
