The Tampa Prep Terrapins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Winthrop College Prep Academy, posting a 82-46 win at home. With that win, Tampa Prep brought their scoring average up to 51.7 points per game.
Tampa Prep had a senior duo take command as Gabby Bush scored 25 points and Treniti Fluker scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bush has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Long, who scored 15 points.
Despite the defeat, Winthrop College Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Zamyria King scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. King hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. JoLesa Birkhead was another key contributor, scoring 21 points.
Tampa Prep has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tampa Prep will square off against Clearwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Winthrop College Prep Academy on the road again on Friday and play against Academy of the Holy Names at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
