St. Stephens is 6-0 against the Knights since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The St. Stephens Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Lincoln Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, St. Stephens was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to the Raiders. While losing is never fun, St. Stephens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Raiders are ranked 96th).
St. Stephens' defeat came about despite a quality game from Kennedy Blevins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Blevins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Molli Harris was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Lincoln was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 54-50 to the Raiders.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Hailey Hagler, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Smith, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
St. Stephens' defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for North Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
St. Stephens beat the Knights 63-55 when the teams last played back in January. Does St. Stephens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
