Millbury is 7-1 against Notre Dame Academy since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Woolies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rebels at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Notre Dame Academy will be up against a hot Millbury squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Woolies' pitcher stepped up to hand Grafton a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The contest marked the Woolies' most dominant victory of the season.

Brielle Brothers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gianna Cappoli and Adeline Canney did most of the damage at the plate: Cappoli went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Canney went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Canney has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Canney, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Millbury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Notre Dame Academy never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against St. Bernard's Central Catholic on Thursday. They blew past the Bernardians 12-5. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Notre Dame Academy let Norah Wojnarowicz and Abby Spaulding run wild. Wojnarowicz got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double, while Spaulding went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Molly Parisi was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Millbury's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Notre Dame Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Millbury has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Notre Dame Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Millbury skirted past Notre Dame Academy 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Woolies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
