Banks County is 4-0 against the Spartans since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Banks County Leopards will be playing at home against the Athens Academy Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Banks County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 12 games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Banks County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Union County 51-49.
Banks County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Murphy led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Hoard, who scored ten points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Athens Academy's game on Tuesday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 51-37 win over Providence Christian Academy.
Banks County pushed their record up to 19-4 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Athens Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
Everything came up roses for Banks County against the Spartans when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 63-31 win. Does Banks County have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
