Homer is a perfect 7-0 against Redington since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mariners will head out to take on the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Homer put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. Everything went their way against Grace Christian as they made off with a 16-1 win. The Mariners have beaten the Grizzlies the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Grizzlies has come to flipping the script.
Evan Pietsch made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Redington came out on top against Monroe Catholic on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run first inning. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Rams 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since May 10, 2025.
Ikaia Flores was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Nate Fields also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Homer's record now sits at 3-1-1. As for Redington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Homer has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Redington struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Homer skirted past Redington 5-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mariners since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
