The Colville Crimson Hawks put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Freeman by a score of 52-42. This was payback for Colville, who suffered a 52-26 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the defeat, Freeman saw an underclassman step up: Taylee Phelps scored 20 points. Phelps scored a full 47.6% of Freeman's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Avery Gass, who scored six points.
Colville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Freeman, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colville will be home for the holidays to greet Tonasket at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Freeman will be home for the holidays to greet Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
