Baseball Recap: Bowler Victorious

Bowler's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Northland Lutheran Wildcats an 8-0 shutout. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Treyvon Granquist made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. He has become a key player for Bowler: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 0-4 otherwise. Granquist was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Gage Wanta and Blake Brunner did most of the damage at the plate: Wanta got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Brunner went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. What's more, Wanta posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Kolpack, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Bowler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bowler's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Northland Lutheran, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Bowler will head out on the road to face off against White Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northland Lutheran, they will welcome Owen-Withee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
