Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Athens). They walked away with a 14-10 win over the Mabank Panthers on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Athens' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 5-16. As for Mabank, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Coincidentally, Athens and Mabank will both be playing Brownsboro the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Bears at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
