The Maryvale Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 53-29 defeat at the hands of Tolleson. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maryvale in their matchups with Tolleson: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Maryvale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dalia Valdez. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Valdez scored a full 58.6% of Maryvale's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Maryvale and Shadow Ridge will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shadow Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Maryvale in Arizona (Shadow Ridge is ranked 69th, while Maryvale is ranked 200th). As for Tolleson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Joya Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Joya Community comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
