Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Davenport Wolves walked away with it. They really took it to the Trojans for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-28 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Davenport, who have now won eight games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Davenport found their leader in underclassman Barrett Fallon, who rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Fallon really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Triston Hamlin, who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Jones' lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Sustaita, who threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Beau Auzston, who picked up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Davenport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Jones, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Davenport will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against La Vernia at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. La Vernia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 284 points over their last six games. Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
