The Fatima Comets are on the road again on Friday and plays the St. Elizabeth Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. One thing working in Fatima's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Even though Eugene scored an imposing 71 points on Saturday, Fatima still came out on top. Fatima snuck past the Eagles with a 77-71 victory.
St. Elizabeth only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 23-point they dealt the Lions on Tuesday. St. Elizabeth blew past the Lions 72-49. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Elizabeth.
Gavin Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Blake Wobbe was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Fatima's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for St. Elizabeth, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Everything came up roses for Fatima against the Hornets in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 72-37 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was St. Elizabeth's Jace Kesel, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Fatima to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
