This season hasn't been kind to the Wisner-Pilger Gators, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were dealt a 70-39 defeat at the hands of Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Tuesday. Wisner-Pilger was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-15.
Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Kurtenbach led the charge by dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Kurtenbach hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Easton Baumgart, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 assists.
Wisner-Pilger bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Wisner-Pilger will head out on the road to face off against Pender on Thursday. Hopefully Pender focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 two weeks ago.
