A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Panthers at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sealy is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since May 2, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over George Ranch.
Sealy let Caylee Syzdek and Jaylyn Packebush loose on the outfield. Syzdek went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Packebush scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Packebush has posted since back in February of 2024. Jade Barton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Sealy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as George Ranch only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Paetow got themselves on the board against Alief Taylor on Friday, but Alief Taylor never followed suit. They didn't even let the Lions on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
MIA RUIZ and AMANDA VASQUEZ did most of the damage at the plate: RUIZ scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while VASQUEZ scored two runs while going 2-for-3. GLORYA HOWLAND was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.
The win got Paetow back to even at 2-2. As for Sealy, their record now sits at 4-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sealy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Paetow struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Sealy skirted past Paetow 7-6 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Sealy repeat their success, or does Paetow have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
