This season hasn't been kind to the Meridian Lions, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were outmatched by Providence Prep on the road and fell 60-18. Meridian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-6.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lilly Hodge, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Hodge is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Alice Illian was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meridian's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.4 points per game. As for Providence Prep, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Providence Prep will head out on the road to face off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
