The Lyons Lions will be playing at home against the Northstar Christian Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lyons will be looking to keep their 18-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
On Tuesday, Lyons strolled past Red Creek with points to spare, taking the game 60-43. Given Lyons' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Red Creek is ranked 696th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Northstar Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 79-78 to Wheatland-Chili. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lyons' win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Northstar Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
