Western C (8 Man) recap Nov. 7, 2012
Superior extended the longest winning streak in Western C (8 Man) this week by beating Broadview/Lavina, 60-32. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Superior took down the Pirates 60-32 last week, the largest margin of any game. Billy Smith threw for 379 yards and eight touchdowns and ran for 99 yards in the win.
Mac Bignell was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 41 carries, he ran for 205 yards as Drummond defeated Broadview/Lavina. Teammate Danny Mannix added to the ground attack by rushing for 32 yards.
Tyler Delaney made the biggest impact on defense this week as Charlo lost to Ennis. The 5-foot-10 junior recorded one fumble.
Karow was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bobcats beat the Pirates. Karow racked up five receptions for 126 yards. Adam Kay helped Superior's passing attack out by catching four balls for 108 yards.
Victor's Matt Kittel and Kyle Ball have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Western C (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Kittel has thrown for 2765 yards this season, while Ball has 81 catches for 1172 yards. Josh Erickson from Lincoln leads the league in rushing with 1863 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Superior and the Trojans. The Bobcats comes into the matchup ranked third in the state, while Drummond ranks sixth.
So far this year, he has garnered 97 catches for 971 yards.
Smith of the Superior is only 68 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 125 carries Smith has accumulated 932 yard this year.
