Richland Northeast was handed a 20-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Demons on Friday. Richland Northeast sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 win over the Demons. The victory was just what Richland Northeast needed coming off of a 57-37 loss in their prior matchup.
Damarcus Haliburton had an outrageously good game as he scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmanuel Ard, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Ridge View and the Redhawks (ranked 15 and 40 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile game. Ridge View walked away with a 64-52 win over the Redhawks on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Ridge View as they're now sitting on five straight.
Richland Northeast's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-10. As for Ridge View, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-1.
Richland Northeast came up short against the Blazers when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-43. Can Richland Northeast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
