The South Forsyth War Eagles lost against the Milton Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. South Forsyth took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, South Forsyth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Eagles are ranked 24th).
Milton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nya Smith, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Smith is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Caroline Young was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
South Forsyth has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Milton, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.
South Forsyth will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forsyth Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Milton, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
