The Spring Valley Timberwolves will head out to take on the Cabell Midland Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Valley will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Cabell Midland better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Spring Valley really get things going. Spring Valley put the hurt on Capital with a sharp 84-60 win on Friday. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spring Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Harrison Riggs, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Riggs' 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Caldwell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Spring Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cabell Midland). They walked away with a 99-90 victory over Hurricane on Tuesday. The Knights pushed the score to 78-55 by the end of the third, a deficit the Redskins cut but never quite recovered from.
Cabell Midland's win came from a few key players Spring Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Marshall Summers, who posted 25 points and five boards. Those 25 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Blackburn, who scored 18 points.
Spring Valley's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Cabell Midland, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Spring Valley has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 43.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Cabell Midland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Spring Valley against Cabell Midland in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 79-43 win. Will Spring Valley repeat their success, or does Cabell Midland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
