Basketball Recap: South Whidbey Piles Up the Points Against Summit Sierra

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Whidbey). They breezed by the Summit Sierra Spartans to the tune of 74-36 on Tuesday. With the Falcons ahead 44-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

South Whidbey's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Weston Dill, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Cody Redford, who went 5 for 6 en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

South Whidbey was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

South Whidbey now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Summit Sierra, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

South Whidbey will head out on the road to take on University Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Whidbey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Summit Sierra, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Summit Atlas at 5:15 p.m. on January 30th.
