Northern has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Wednesday. They will challenge the Patuxent Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Northern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday.
Last Monday, Northern ended up a good deal behind Lanham Christian and lost 67-50.
Despite the loss, Northern had strong showings from Alec Johnson, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 12 rebounds, and ten blocks, and Emmanuel Powell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. Will Ellis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Patuxent's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 81-24 defeat at the hands of McDonough. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Patuxent in their matchups with McDonough: they've now lost four in a row.
Northern's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Patuxent, they bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Northern beat Patuxent 38-30 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northern since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
