Baseball Recap: Nash Central Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

While Nash Central put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Wilson Prep. Nash Central put the hurt on Wilson Prep with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Tanner Moss and Jackson Lynch did most of the damage at the plate: Moss scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Lynch scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Those three runs gave Lynch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Flowers, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Nash Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilson Prep only posted an OBP of .300.

Nash Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. With the defeat, Wilson Prep broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Coming up, Nash Central will challenge Rocky Mount at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mount has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.11 runs per game on average), something Nash Central will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wilson Prep, they will take on Bear Grass Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
