The Olympian Eagles will square off against the Point Loma Pointers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Olympian sitting on 14 straight wins and Point Loma on five.
Olympian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past West Ranch 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Alexandra Perez tossed a big game, striking out six batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jacqui De Murguia was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Kailynn Robeson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Olympian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Point Loma not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24th (when they won 11-1). They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Port of Los Angeles.
Ryoko Schroth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leyton MacPherson, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Delilah Pearlmutter also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Olympian's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-12-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Point Loma, their record is now 26-6-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Olympian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Point Loma struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
