The Abbeville Wildcats and the Lutcher Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Abbeville Wildcats had to settle for second. They were the victim of a rough 35-12 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. Abbeville's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Quinn Smith looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 11 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 191 yards and a touchdown while completing 81.8% of his passes.
Abbeville's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Lutcher, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Abbeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lutcher will look to defend their home field on Friday against Opelousas at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Opelousas is ranked 42nd, while Lutcher is ranked 44th).
