Seeger is 1-9 against Covington since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The pair will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Seeger will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Saturday, Seeger got the win against Crawfordsville by a conclusive 48-24.
Luke Pluimer was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Seeger's points. The team also got some help courtesy of cameron laws, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Covington had to settle for a 51-48 loss against North Montgomery on Saturday.
The losing side was boosted by Coye Ferguson, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Curt Slider, who scored 11 points.
Seeger's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Covington, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's matchup: Seeger have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.5 threes per game. It's a different story for Covington, though, as they've been averaging only 4.5 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Seeger against Covington when the teams last played back in February as the team secured a 72-39 win. Will Seeger repeat their success, or does Covington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
