The North Olmsted Eagles will face off against the Lutheran West Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Olmsted will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
On Tuesday, North Olmsted didn't have quite enough to beat Lakewood and fell 7-5. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
North Olmsted saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Darren Krider, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Krider has launched this season. Another was Tyler Zatta, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Lutheran West put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Beachwood. The Longhorns came out on top against the Bison by a score of 4-0.
Lutheran West also got a great performance from Jansen Gross as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Derek Petrigac was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. AJ Biascochea was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Lutheran West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Olmsted, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
