A Season-Best Effort from Jeremiah Delarosa Leads Atwater over El Capitan
Atwater was led to victory by Jeremiah Delarosa, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Delarosa rushed for 129 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
The win was the third in a row for Atwater, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Delarosa and Atwater will head out on the road to take on Golden Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Big Game from Dupree As Merced Won 45-7
Merced picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Quintell Dupree. Dupree turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 191 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
If history really does repeat itself, Dupree might just drop another big game when he faces off against El Capitan on Friday. Dupree threw for 176 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing the last time he and the Gauchos duked it out back in October of 2023.

Julian Higareda Makes It Two for Merced
Keeping Dupree company is Julian Higareda, a fellow Merced player. He picked up 70 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 51 yards.
For the year, Higareda has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 38.4 receiving yards per game.

El Capitan was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Lorenzo Peters did his best to prevent it. Peters was unstoppable, rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
