The Dade Christian Crusaders had to start their season on the road  on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a  48-14 defeat at the hands of Academy for Innovative Education.
 Leading Academy for Innovative Education to victory were  Alexa Garofalo and  Samantha Ayerdis.  Garofalo  dropped  a double-double on 20 points and 13  rebounds, while  Ayerdis  dropped  a triple-double on 14 points, 16  rebounds, and 13  steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which  Ayerdis has scored at least 25% of Academy for Innovative Education's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kylie Garcia, who  scored 6 points.
 Dade Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Academy for Innovative Education, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
 Dade Christian will head out on the road to face off against Sheridan Hills Christian at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Academy for Innovative Education, they will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against Cristo Rey at 4:00  p.m.
