The South Oak Cliff Bears had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 42-31 win over Midlothian Heritage on Friday. South Oak Cliff's win was all the more impressive since Midlothian Heritage was averaging only 17.62 points allowed on the season.
South Oak Cliff was led to victory by Danny Green Jr and Khalil Ewell. Green Jr rushed for 119 yards and four touchdowns, while Ewell rushed for 196 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Ewell was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.
Midlothian Heritage's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carter Rutenbar, who threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Clyde Wilson was in the mix too, providing Midlothian Heritage with two touchdowns.
The victory was the tenth in a row for South Oak Cliff, bringing their record for this year to 11-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.5 points. As for Midlothian Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-1.
South Oak Cliff is on the road again on Saturday and play against Lovejoy at 3:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Lovejoy is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games. Midlothian Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
