The Lakewood Ranch Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Sarasota Sailors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lakewood Ranch gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They strolled past Saint Stephen's Episcopal with points to spare, taking the game 56-42.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakewood Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Allen, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of James Butler, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after only 24 points in their last match, Sarasota made sure to put some points up on the board against Riverview Sarasota on Tuesday. Sarasota came out on top against Riverview Sarasota by a score of 70-58.
Lakewood Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sarasota, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Lakewood Ranch was dealt a bruising 65-19 loss at the hands of Sarasota in their previous meeting back in January. Thankfully for Lakewood Ranch, Nic Rafaniello (who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
