Mia Queen-Gilliam and Brooklyn Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Queen-Gilliam went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Lewis went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Paintsville can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They never let Martin County get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Molly Music made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kendra Runyon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kira Ratliff was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Floyd Central pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Paintsville, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 8-12.
Everything went Floyd Central's way against Paintsville in their previous matchup back in March, as Floyd Central made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
