The Pell City Panthers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Anniston and snuck past 66-63. Pell City's win was all the more impressive since Anniston was averaging only 29 points allowed on the season.
Pell City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reagan Tarver, who scored 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tarver has scored at least 25% of Pell City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaniya Mitchell, who scored 11 points.
Pell City's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Anniston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-2.
Pell City will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Scottsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Anniston will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bessemer City at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bessemer City is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
